-We love marriage just as much as we love weddings. Take a moment to prepare not just for the wedding, but for the marriage-
Wisdom is priceless. And it seems impossible to find at times… but then again it can be simple. You have probably noticed that when writing these posts I often draw from my interactions with other people, people who have more experience and knowledge than Paul and I. In a word, they have wisdom. One of the best things for our marriage has been having these relationships as a support to our relationship. Paul has older sisters, we have friends that have been married longer than us, and we cherish those relationships. We make a point to foster these relationships, to spend time with married couples whose values we share, whose practices we want to emulate. This almost happened instinctively and I did not notice it until a fellow wedding photographer friend, Vanessa of Vanessa Joy Photography mentioned the advantage to having an older couple to look up to (someone else showing me wisdom!) But really, it is priceless. There have been countless times that Paul and I have benefited by examples of and conversations with these beautiful couples in our lives. So wisdom is often closer than we realize, maybe just a phone call away.
