I love this. One of my favorite boards on my pinterest page is the one titled “words of wisdom” because, more than just beautiful photos, it speaks to our hearts about the beauty of love which is shown through those photos. This pin spoke to my heart. In one of my favorite marriage books that I read years ago, one of the main take-aways for me was that we ought to make love to our spouse all day long by the way we treat them. Because we prove our love when we show it and put it into action. We do not just show our love through physical affection or merely through the words ‘I love you’ (though, that is part of it of course) but through the way we treat our spouse at every interaction with them – treating them with love, dignity, patience, kindness, joy, humility, forgiveness, and selflessness. That is how to prove your love every day. It is not necessarily the easiest thing in the world or a quick fix but definitely something that everyone can start doing their best at right now. I believe loving your spouse is a life-long learning process and journey, which is why we have a lifetime of marriage to practice and learn to love.
