Built in the early to mid 1900s, The Pleasantdale Chateau holds within it the charm and class of an era that has long since faded away with the turning of the century. Originally, the chateau belonged to a man named Charles Walter Nichols who acquired the land in the early 1900s. Following his passing it was used for a retreat center and finally in 1994 it was restored and renovated by the Knowles Family into what is known today to be one of New Jersey’s most elegant wedding venues.

Inspired by Norman architecture from Northern France and Southern England, the Chateau has many beautiful locations for photos indoors before even delving into it’s 40 acres of breathtaking gardens. Originally serving as a farm to Dutch farmers dating as far back as 1835, Pleasantdale continues that history today by using seasonal fruits and vegetables grown on site for catering. The experience at the Chateau is completed with exceptionally friendly staff that make a wedding planning that much easier. It is especially ideal for winter weddings with interior European styling that is brightly lit with skylights allowing in abundant natural light throughout.
