Being an artist, I can’t help but always try to find a more creative way to to depict the various objects and wedding moments throughout the course of a wedding or engagement session. When you photograph the amount of beautiful wedding rings that I typically handle throughout the year, you have two options, do it simply and quickly, or see each couple’s set of rings as an opportunity and challenge to be creative and artistic. The pictures you see below are a result of this constant effort to keep things fresh and new. Enjoy, feel free to tell me your favorites in the comments at the bottom of the page!
This shot above is not an easy one to set up. It usually takes a few tries and some very steady hands!
This shot above is of the rings on a layer of necklaces laid out on a bed. I wanted a soft specular background for the rings.
I love the purple background for this shot, provided by a couch at the venue the bride was getting ready at. AND it matched the bridemaid’s dresses.

This get this beautiful backdrop for the rings I laid them on Rachel’s mother’s handbag.
I love golden sunset lighting!
Awesome fall colors!

As soon as I saw this white plant I knew how I wanted to photograph Rossana’s engagement ring.

Ice on ice. This is one of the rare times I used an off camera flash for a ring shot.
Melanie and Adam had their wedding in a library so I thought it was fitting to bring books into this photograph.

Another example of bringing a wedding theme into a ring photograph. Megan and Dave were married not far from the beach with their venue actually overlooking the ocean.

This was another rather difficult photograph that required some very steady hands!

More steady hands required.
And we finish things off with another beautiful sunset lit photograph. Thanks for taking a look, let me know your favorites in the comment area!

Can you tell how much I love what I do?
We are always happy to help in any way, all part of the job!
I love this bride’s reaction at her first look!
Carolyn checking the lighting. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Here is the incredible Anne holding a reflector to help balance out the light.

This is definitely an acquired skill.

It helps to be limber to get angles like these.

Its always rewarding seeing a bride’s reaction to seeing her wedding photos the day of.
Our assistant Leah is always ready to run to the car in a rainstorm, or help with a pet dog. (I am pretty sure she prefers the second) On the left is the lovely and talented Michelle Lange, hiking through the rustling leaves to get a great angle on a first look.
Another same day wedding slideshow.
This guest was hoping for a dance with Leah.
While taking portraits we often invite the couples to get each other to laugh. I think Greg thought he was safe from the camera.
This wardrobe was awesome for Brenda’s bridal gown.
I love showing a few pictures, helps make a couple feel at ease when they see that they look great!
There is no location that isn’t worth climbing for a great angle.
I think Melanie agrees!
Epic photographs from this Central Park engagement session.

The main thing to remember when getting this close to water with a camera is to carefully lock your feet in place and don’t move the foot closest to the water.
Low and stealthy, like a ninja so as to not distract from the ceremony.
More slideshow reactions!
Anne working the angles.
More epic shots!
Anything for our brides!
Like a ninja.

This waterfront spot was amazing, can’t wait to photograph Laura and Dana’s wedding this year!

Here’s looking forward to more beautiful weddings and engagement sessions in 2014!

Jennifer Peschek Smith - Love them all!!!!
Courtney Lowry - They’re all beautiful. 2,4 and 6 are great. My favorite is actually the one with the books. I feel like so many of these should’ve in magazines. They really accentuate the beautiful cuts. Great job!!!
Kathy Petrolino Tufano - Beautiful work! I love the flower and the starfish, but they are all so interesting!
Cathy Manganaro - I love the rings on the moss, the starfish and of course my own children’s rings on the wood floor 🙂
